Palestinian official: Abbas pressured to renew talks without preconditions
A senior Palestinian official said that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is under heavy international pressure to return to the negotiation table even without Israel's freezing of settlement construction and acceptance of the two-state solution based on the 1967 line.
The official added that Abbas will present the Palestinian leadership with US State Secretary John Kerry's proposal to renew the talks. According to him, American efforts are aimed more toward economic benefits than a political solution. (Elior Levy)
