Palestinian arrested for allegedly assaulting tourist girlfriend

A 47-year-old Palestinian with an Israeli citizenship was arrested in his home-town in the Palestinian Authority territory for allegedly assaulting his spouse, a Ukrainian tourist whom he met in Israel, and imprisoning her in his home. The suspect was arrested following the tourist's complaint which related that after one of the attacks she suffered an abortion.

The suspect denied the allegations in his interrogation and claimed that it was he who reported to the police that his spouse was missing, and that the abortion was planned. (Raanan Ben-Zur)
