The US National Park Service is putting final touches on preparations for commemorations of this year's 150 year anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, the pivotal battle of the American Civil War.

Tens of thousands of visitors are expected for the events beginning June 29 at Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania. Another major event is planned in November for the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address, which President Abraham Lincoln famously delivered at the dedication ceremony for Soldiers' National Cemetery. The address began with the words "Four score and seven years ago." (AP)
