Heroin, hashish smuggling attempt foiled, 4 arrested
Soldiers from the Magen unit, backed by soldiers from a special operations unit of the Border Police and Military Intelligence, foiled a large-scale smuggling attempt of 17 kg of heroin and 48 kg of hashish on Route 40 in the Ramon Crater area.
The police arrested four suspects, residents of the Negev, who attempted to flee police with their car. One of the detainees, 29, is suspected of heading a network that smuggled drugs from the Jordanian border into Israel. (Ilana Curiel)
