8 month sentence for motorbike rider who hit, killed woman

Akko Traffic Court sentenced Adam Scheps, 20, of Nahariya, to eight months in prison and six months suspended sentence for causing the death by negligence of a woman he ran into with his motorbike on the Nahariya promenade.

 

According to the indictment, Sophia Lane, 67-year-old walked with her husband on the city’s boardwalk in October 2010 when suddenly the motorbike collided with Lane. She fell, hit her head and died instantly. In addition, the court rescinded Schep’s license for seven years. (Maor Buchnik)
