Knesset Member Yisrael Eichler (United Torah Judaism) referred to the haredi recruitment law and said that "mandatory service would be a burden on the fighting forces. Billions will be spent on soldiers who don't contribute anything to the State's security."
In addition, MK Eichler called to turn the IDF into a professional army, and added: "Only eliminating the mandatory service would dismiss the demagogic basis of haredi haters asking to use the army as a war against Jewish culture.
