Arrests were made possible due the activity of an undercover agent, enlisted by police to get involved in a dispute between two crime groups. The agent, who was a resident of Jaffa and knew the suspects, managed to record the suspects as they were conducting drug- and arms-deals, making explosives and ordering assassinations.

Due to the evidence, police detectives raided dozens of suspects' houses in Jaffa and arrested the men.
Despite the allegations, one of the attorneys representing the suspects insisted that the undercover agent "is a criminal trying to get other people in trouble so he can get himself out of a big mess he got himself into."
All the suspects who were arrested are members of the same group and will be brought for remand later Tuesday.
