Russia: S-300 deal meant to deter Western intervention

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Rivkoc told reporters that the S-300 missiles deal with Syria is intended to deter the West from military intervention in the war-torn country.
Earlier, Rivkov criticized the EU's resolution to remove the arms embargo on Syria and claimed it will endanger the international peace conference on the Syrian issue. (AFP)
