Habayit Hayehudi demands halt to women integration in chief rabbis election

MK Ayelet Shaked (Habayit Hayehudi) filed a petition with Coalition Chairman Yariv Levin to immediately stop promoting legislation which seeks to include women in the expanded body which elects Israel's chief rabbis.
In the petition, Shaked writes that her party demands the cessation of the initiative in order to "reach an agreement on the issue among all coalition factions." Conversely, party members sharply criticized the petition and said it forms a surrender to radical elements. (Moran Azulay)
