Deputy Foreign Minister, MK Zeev Elkin (Likud), said that Jerusalem is considering renewing collaboration with the UN Human Rights Council, subject to what he referred to as "ending structural discrimination against Israel."
According to Elkin, "Israel is not a member of any regional group in the council, and it is the only country to 'receive' a special clause in the agenda that is used to condemn it for allegedly violating human rights." He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the Global Forum for Combating Anti-Semitism. (Attila Somfalvi)
