Lapid to haredim: Draft bill not attack on Torah

Finance Minister Yair Lapid appealed to the haredi sector after the Peri Committee has ratified the clause regarding criminal sanctions against draft dodgers in the universal conscription bill, saying the decision does not represent an attack against religious values.
"I wish to address Asher from Jerusalem and Haim from Bnei Brak. What is concurring is not an attack at the world of Torah. We have no intention of imposing secular values and way of life on you," he said. (Moran Azulay)
