Iranian presidential candidate says sanctions pose opportunity
Iranian presidential candidate Saeed Jalili said the Islamic Republic must reduce its dependency on exporting oil to deal with the international sanctions against it. Jalili was speaking in a televised debate between the candidates, on the subject of economy.
According to Jalili, the oil embargo imposed by the West on Iran is an opportunity for economic reform. Iran's oil export dropped by half due to the US and European Union's sanctions. (AFP)
