US Secretary of State John Kerry spoke on the phone with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, as part of Kerry's efforts to break the peace process deadlock. This is the second time in the last 24 hours Kerry called the Palestinian president.
According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, during the call Abbas reiterated the Palestinian position that construction of settlements must stop and the desired release of Palestinian prisoners.
