Experts say Russian, Iranian arms shift war in Assad's favor

The Washington Post newspaper reported that advanced weapons system transferred by Iran and Russia to the Syrian regime over the last few weeks gave President Bashar Assad's forces a distinct advantage in their fight against the rebels. According to the report, the weapons included Iranian made drones and system to locate the source mortar shells.

 

A commander in the Free Syria Army said that he and his men have been seeing a lot of drones lately in Syria's sky, and after managing to take down a few, they identified their Iranian source. Experts told the newspaper that the recent shift in Assad's favor is due to the high quality weaponry he has been receiving. (Yitzhak Benhorin)
