The ministerial legislative committee approved a bill seeking to abolish a law clause that restricts chief rabbis from running for a second term.
Yesh Atid ministers were absent from the vote due to an ongoing standoff with Habayit Hayehudi over the latter party's veto on a bill proposing inclusion of women in bodies responsible for appointment of chief rabbis. (Moran Azulay)
