Hamas: New government is illegal, fails to represent people
Hamas spokesman in the Gaza Strip, Sami Abu Zahari, said that the new government in Ramallah does not fully represent the Palestinian people: "This government is illegal because it does not derive its legal legitimacy from the legislative body." He further added that the appointment deviates from the reconciliation agreement Hamas and Fatah reached in Cairo.
Earlier Sunday evening it was reported that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has decided to appoint Rami Hamdallah as the next Palestinian prime minister. (Elior Levy)
