Minister Ya'alon: Assad controls only 40% of Syrian territory
Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon participated for the first time since he took office in the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, where he discussed the situation in Syria. He said: "Syria is divided. President Bashar Assad controls 40% of the territory. There are at least four neighborhoods in Damascus under the control of the rebels."
Committee chairman Knesset Member Avigdor Lieberman said: "Those who see the situation around us understand that the security challenges today are the greatest we have ever dealt with." (Moran Azulay)
