Ministers ratify housing plan

The government's Housing Cabinet, headed by Finance Minister Yair Lapid, ratified the government's housing program, including a target to build 25,000 homes a year and removing 80 thousand building permits per year. However, the clause regarding amending the criteria for affordable housing was not approved due to lack of agreement among ministers.
Additionally, Minister for Development of the Negev and Galilee Silvan Shalom expressed his objection to the plan to build 15 thousand apartments in high demand areas. The Minister claimed that the proposal harms the development of the periphery. (Avital Lahav)
