Remains of Polio virus found in Beersheba sewers
The Health Ministry announced Monday night that remains of the Polio virus were found in the Beersheba sewage system. They are apparently remains from Rahat, where virus remains were originally discovered several days ago.
The ministry stressed that there have been no known cases of morbidity and the origination remains focused on the Rahat sewers at this stage. Immunizations against the virus are underway in Rahat, and in the area’s infant care programs, including in Beersheba. (Dr. Itay Gal)
