Istanbul: Police disperses protesters with tear gas

An eyewitness in Istanbul told the AFP news agency that police is attempting to disperse protestors with tear gas and water cannons.
Earlier, photos from Taksim Square showed youngsters amassing to demonstrate against the government, and makeshift barricades placed on the streets. (AFP)
