US: Susan Rice appointed to role of national security adviser

US President Barak Obama has announced that he is appointing Susan Rice, currently the US's ambassador to the UN, to the role of national security advisor. The appointment does not require a senate conformation.

 

Rice will replace Tom Donilon, who held the position since Obama first took office. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
