TLV club fined NIS 1-million for breaking smoking law

The High Court decided that a Tel Aviv nightclub will have to pay a fine of more than a NIS 1-million to the Cancer Society, after breaking the public smoking law.

The high compensation was determined in an arrangement between the club, Bella Shlomkins, and two young men who visited the location in 2008 and filed a class action lawsuit. The agreement received approval of the High Court, to which the two men had appealed after the Central District Court ruled to compensate them in the amount of NIS 90,000. (Aviel Magnezi)
