US envoy: Israel inspired our treatment of gays in military
Dan Shapiro, the American ambassador to Israel said at the city’s Pride Parade, "What an amazing crowd. I bring with me warm greetings from President Obama, and from the American people. There is no better place to celebrate than Tel Aviv, the friendliest city in the world to the LGBT community."
Shapiro added, "We’ve learned from Israel how to let our soldiers serve without having to hide who they love. We are not done yet, there's still a lot to do." (Shahar Chai)
