UN welcomes Russia's offer to supervise Golan Heights
United Nations Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq said his organization will welcome Russia's contribution to keeping the peace in the Golan Heights area, after Russian President Vladimir Putin's statement that his country is willing to replace the Austrian troops to withdraw from the area in two weeks.
The UN statement was reported in the Russia Today news website and in the RIA Novosti Russian news agency. (Ynet)
