Yisrael Beiteinu caves on no-confidence clause

Following the public outrage caused by Yisrael Beiteinu's governance bill, party chairman Avigdor Lieberman sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu retracting the bill's controversial clause on the no-confidence motion.
The bill was part of the coalition agreement between Yisrael Beiteinu and Likud. The retracted clause determined that a motion of no-confidence could only be initiated if at least 61 MKs voiced their support of the motion in advance and if an alternative candidate for the prime minister's seat was agreed upon.
