Egypt villagers kill man in latest lynching

A security official says villagers abducted a man in northern Egypt and beat him to death on Sunday, in the second vigilante attack in the country this Sunday. The villagers killed a carpenter they accused of killing a minibus driver, the official said. The man killed had allegedly been fighting over financial issues with the minibus driver, police said.
Earlier Sunday, suspected militants shot dead a counterterrorism police officer in the Sinai Peninsula after they swerved in front of his car while he was driving, security officials said. (AP)
