Study shows 100% rise in elderly abuse

A study based on Ministry of Welfare data shows that 2012 saw 1,070 reports of elderly abuse compared with 510 in 2009 – a 100% increase.
The study further indicated that last year saw 1,862 reports of mental abuse against elderly compared with 1,250 in 2009. There has also been a 15% increase in reports of elderly sexual abuse. (Omri Efraim)
