None
The Agriculture Ministry announced that the locust pestilence in southern Israel was eradicated without much harm to agriculture or farmers in the region. The ministry said that "within three months, the locusts have disappeared from Israel and have not spread beyond the western Negev."
The cost of treating the billions of locusts, which included monitoring, spraying both from ground and from air, and training farmers is estimated at NIS 7.5 million ($2 million). (Ilana Curiel)
