Knesset: At least 4 women on committee for appointment of religious judges

None

A bill stipulating the representation of women in the committee tasked with the appointment of religious judges as compulsory passed second and third readings in the Knesset, despite stern opposition from the religious factions.

The law was brought before the Knesset by Meretz Chair Zehava Gal-On, Habayit Hayehudi MK Shuli Mualem and Yesh Atid MK Aliza Lavi. It stipulates there be at least 4 female judges on the committee. (Moran Azulay)
