Istanbul mayor calls protestors to disperse for their own safety

Istanbul mayor said that "marginal groups" have attacked police officers stationed near Taksim Square, after protests renewed in the embattled city center. He called protestors to abandon these groups and leave the square for everyone's safety, the Turkish Huriyet news website reported.
Earlier it was reported that police used tear gas against demonstrators massing in Taksim Square to protest Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's regime. It was also reported that several were wounded and that dozens of police officers have blocked the streets leading to the square. (Ynet)
