White House: Will increase aid to Syrian opposition
The White House announced that the US government will share intelligence concerning the use of chemical weapons with the international community, specifically the UN and the G8 countries. The intelligence assessment on the matter has already been transferred to Russia, which has yet to agree to allow Assad to step down from office.
It was further added that the US will increase the military and political aid to the Syrian opposition in the next few weeks, following deliberation on the matter in the American Congress. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
