Iran interior minister: voting time may be extended
None
Iran's Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar said there was "great enthusiasm" among the people in connection with the presidential election, which may necessitate extending the working hours of the ballot polls.
"We should be patient. Transparency and accuracy are of greater importance to us than speed. We hope to announce the results as soon as possible," Najjar said. The ballots are scheduled to remain open until 4.30 PM, but in the event of an increase in working hours they are to remain open until midnight. (Shmuel Sasoni)
