Ya'alon: We acted when Syria crossed red lines
None
Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon spoke in the Washington Institute in the United States and commented on the Syrian crisis, stressing that Israel has posed the Assad regime with three "red lines": Supplying Hezbollah with advanced weapons, transferring chemical weapons to Hezbollah or allowing fire from the Golan Heights toward Israel. Ya'alon said that when these lines were crossed, Israel acted to destroy outposts related to fire on Israeli territory.
Ya'alon added that Al-Qaeda is looking for strongholds in Syria, Lebanon and the Sinai Peninsula to encircle Israel and defeat it. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
