Some 36.7 million voters out of 50.5 million took part in the Iranian presidential election Friday, a participation rate of 72.7% compared to 85% in 2009, according to the final results released by the Islamic Republic's Ministry of the Interior.
The moderate cleric Hassan Rohani won the election in the first round, garnering 18.6 million votes (50.68%). (AFP)
