Egyptian security forces foiled an attempted smuggling of half a ton of explosives into Sinai. The load of munitions was hidden in a truck headed to the peninsula.
The driver admitted to having intended to deliver the explosives to a known smuggler. The operation was carried out as part of a concerted effort to halt delivery of weapons, many of which are intended for the Gaza strip, to the peninsula. (Roi Kais)
