Remnants of a mortar shell 82 mm in diameter were found during work to upgrade landing strips at Ben Gurion Airport.
The Airports Authority said, "This is likely a bomb left over from the War of Independence. Police sappers were summoned and executed a controlled explosion, during which landings and takeoffs were stopped for a few minutes." (Shahar Hai)
