Caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abu Faour hailed Germany's stance to host more than 5,000 Syrian refugees who escaped the bloodshed to Lebanon, describing the step as a “breakthrough” in addressing the problematic issue, Naharnet reported.
At the same time, Lebanese President Michel Suleiman has called on the Lebanese Shi'ite Muslim Hezbollah movement to pull its guerrillas out of Syria, saying any further involvement in its neighbour's civil war would fuel instability in Lebanon. (Ynet, Reuters)
