Man suspected of sexually assaulting 14 elderly women
Kiryat Gat resident, 27, arrested on suspicion he sexually assaulted women in deserted streets, building stairwells. Victims' ages range between 53 and 87
Kiryat Gat Police arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion he sexually assaulted 14 adult and elderly women over a period that spanned three months. The majority of the victims were immigrants from the former Soviet Union and their ages raged from 53 to 87.
According to the police, the assaults occurred between late December 2012 and early March 2013.
They were usually performed in building stairwells or in deserted streets near the man's residence.

The suspect would leave Kiryat Gat in between attacks. He admitted to the allegations and has been remanded in custody until Sunday.
Police began to suspect a serial sex offender was loose in Kiryat Gat after linking two cases of a similar nature. A special investigation team created thereafter traced 12 victims who had avoided pressing charges.
According to the police, in one of the cases, the assailant pushed an 87-year-old woman to the ground and left her with a fracture in her hand and other contusions.
