Iran picks site for new nuclear research reactor

Iran's state TV says a site in southern Iran has been selected for a planned new nuclear research reactor.
There has been no timetable announced for the proposed plant, which would be similar to a research reactor in Tehran that produces medical isotopes. Iran's lone energy-producing reactor is in the Persian Gulf port of Bushehr. Iran also is working on a so-called "heavy water" reactor that doesn't require enriched uranium fuel. (AP)
