The London-based newspaper Al Hayat has reported that rebels in northern Syria have received Russian-made surface-to-air missiles. The shipment of the K33-0SA 9 system is part of a larger arms shipment sent to the Syrian opposition and is intended to assist the rebels in battling Assad in the air and intercept Scud missile attacks on rebel strongholds.
Recently, the Free Syrian Army has reported that it received "game changing" weapons. (Roi Kais)
