Suicide bombings kill 5 people in Syrian capital

None

Syrian activists and state media say at least five people have been killed in two suicide bombing attacks on security compounds in the capital, Damascus.

Nobody immediately claimed responsibility for Sunday's explosions, but they bore the hallmarks of al-Qaida linked groups that have joined forces with rebels fighting to oust President Bashar Assad. The state-run news agency says three suicide bombers blew themselves up while trying to break into the Rukneddine police station, killing five people. (AP)
