Assistance group: 3,300 reports of sexual abuse of minors in 2012

In 2012 some 3,300 reports of sexual assaults on minors were reported, a half of which involving girls under the age of 12, a report by a group offering assistance to victims of sexual crimes said.
Some 1,400 of the reports dealt with cases of ongoing sexual abuse of minors. 5.5% of all of the sexual abuse complaints lodged with the police took place in school or education facilities. (Noam Dvir)
