Livnat lashes out at IDF chief for talking up peace negotiations

During a Likud factional meeting Sports and Culture Minister Limor Livnat criticized Central Command Chief Nitzan Alon who told foreign press he feared an escalation in hostilities should the peace talks with the Palestinians be not revived. "I thought the days of the Oslo Accords are behind us, and there's a new government about," she said.
Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon defended Alon, saying the general merely "replied to reporters' questions." (Attila Somfalvi)
