Report: Egypt asks Israel, Palestinians for calm

A senior Egyptian official told the Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper that intelligence sources in Cairo made contact with Israeli and Palestinian officials on Monday in order to calm the situation in Gaza after the rocket attack at Israel Sunday night and Israel's Air Force attack in Gaza.
According to the report, the Egyptians asked the parties to honor the agreement signed last November. The source further added that there is concern that Israel would take advantage of the situation in Egypt to escalate tensions with Hamas. (Roi Kais)
