BOI: Flug to fill in for Frenkel until he takes office
Deputy Bank of Israel Governor Dr. Karnit Flug will fill in for newly appointed Bank of Israel Governor Jacob Frenkel until he takes up office. The decision was made in a meeting between Flug and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Monday evening.
Stanley Fischer will leave the governor's role at the end of the month, and Frenkel's entrance to office will be delayed by a few weeks due to his duties as chairperson of JP Morgan Chase International. Flug will continue to serve as deputy governor when Frenkel takes office. (Avital Lahav)
