Education Cmte to discuss abuse of chickens

Following a story by Ynet detailing live chicks thrown into the trash at the Nordia Hatchery in central Israel, the Education Committee has decided to discuss the abuse of chickens in Israel’s hatchery industry, and the enforcement of the Cruelty to Animals law by the Agricultural Ministry.
The discussion was initiated by MK Dov Lipman (Yesh Atid), along with five members of the Knesset coalition and opposition. “We are talking about actions that are incomprehensible," wrote the MKs in a letter to Education Committee Chairman MK Amram Mitzna (Hatnuah). (Erez Erlichman)
