Supreme Court: TA must enforce market closings on Saturdays

The Supreme Court accepted the appeal Wednesday of Tel Aviv market owners, and decided that the municipality must act decisively to ensure that supermarket chains such as TivTam and AMPM could not be open on the Sabbath.
The court also ordered the municipality to examine other enforcement measures, as the fines currently in effect do not achieve the purpose of the law. The court ruled that the city must inform it within 60 days regarding how it plans to proceed. (Aviel Magnezi)
