The former head of the Mossad, Meir Dagan, has criticized threats made by senior Israeli officials against Syria. "Threatening Assad is, in my opinion, a little problematic. He has, in my view, a legitimate claim to retaliating against us. Not war, but certainly firing at us."
According to Dagan, "We mustn’t hurt Assad's honor. There is no need make threats. If you want to act, then act." (Gilad Morag)
