An additional 230 asylum seekers being held in the Saharonim prison in the south have returned their breakfasts and announced that they are beginning a hunger strike.
Earlier it was reported that the jail had begun transferring the 170 prisoners already hunger-striking to other cells and in some cases, other jails, including those reserved for criminal offenders. In wake of the move, some 54 foreigners quit the strike. (Raanan Ben-Zur)
