Iraq: 3 attacks kill 25, some anti-al Qaeda forces
Three attacks north of Baghdad Monday killed 25 people, including members of a Sunni militia that fights al Qaeda, officials said, in the latest of a growing surge of insurgent strikes plaguing Iraq.

In one attack, eight Sunni Muslim militiamen were snatched from their homes in the town of Mishahda and surrounding villages during the past two days, killed and dumped in an orchard on Monday, a police officer said. The government-allied militiamen, or Sahwa, who allied with the US during the Iraq war, are a frequent target for al Qaeda in Iraq, which considers them traitors. (AP)
